Working with Dr. Deena

The focus of my practice is on creating health for now and in the future to create sustainable change that fuels you. I have a personal and collaborative style that respects the wisdom and expertise that you have about your life. Together we will examine those aspects of your life that have the greatest impact on your well-being and overall vigor. What should you expect by working together?

  1. Expect to be listened to and have the space to tell your story.
  2. Besides a careful history, you should expect to have the very best of modern science for testing, evaluation, and treatment of your current situation (including pharmaceuticals if necessary).
  3. I believe in the power of food as medicine. Expect to have a food plan created that fits your needs.
  4. You should also expect to have how you move in the world evaluated. This means your exercise and daily habits. We will devise a plan to optimize your body’s functioning.
  5. Herbs and supplements can be a powerful addition to any healing plan and may be part of my recommendations. There is an abundance of science now supporting the safety and use of many of these.

Payment, Insurance, and Fees
I have chosen to spend my time focusing on you and your health needs, rather than managing a relationship with insurers. I am an “out of network” provider for all insurance companies and I encourage everyone to understand their insurance benefits in advance. Feel free to call your insurance company. After your visit, as a courtesy, we will submit a bill to your insurance company for you. If you prefer, we can give you a “super bill” so that you can submit it to your insurance company yourself.

Medicare Patients: Please call the office to schedule an appointment as opposed to scheduling on line here through the web site. I have limited available appointments for those with Medicare, so you must call to check for availability. Note that I am an out of network provider for Medicare, too, so payment will be due at the time of visit and Medicare may reimburse you for some of my services. Medicare does not allow for payment to me outside of your Medicare plan, even if you have secondary insurance.

I accept credit cards and checks. You may also use your health savings or flexible spending account for visits.

Payment is due at the time of service.

  • Initial 90 minute visit for adults, including case and record review: $595
  • Initial 60 pediatric visits, including case and record review:  $350
  • Follow up visits, are based on time, depending on how much time you desire to work on your issues, and start at 30 minutes for $200.
  • Phone or Skype visits are at the same rate as in office visits during regular hours, for your convenience.
  • After hours, weekend visits, and phone consultations are based on time and start at $75 for 10 minutes.
  • Email correspondence is at no charge for simple issues and clarification questions and with a fee, from $20-100 for more complex consultations including medical advice, new prescriptions, or referrals.

If you are having a medical emergency, please dial 911 or go to your nearest medical center. If you are an established patient in my practice, please call and let me know that you have gone to the hospital, so that I may assist the hospital physicians.
